PCSO’s Update

The Thicket, Houghton – Police received a report of a car found abandoned on The Thicket footpath on Wednesday morning, 14th March, left half on and half off the path, over-hanging an embankment. When officers arrived there was no sign of the driver and recovery services were called to tow the car away; however, a suspect was later detained in St Ives town centre and taken into custody. (Ref CC-14032018-0146)

Vicarage Fields, Hemingford Grey – Police are investigating a break-in and burglary at a house on Vicarage Fields, Hemingford Grey, that happened on Wednesday evening, March 14th, between about 7:45 and 8:15 pm. Thieves forced a rear window to get inside the house then carried out a very untidy search, but at the moment it is not known what may have been taken. Police have carried out house-to-house enquiries in the immediate area, but would still like to hear from anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious at the time or in the days leading up to the crime.
