05/08/2017 08:40 – 05/08/2017 10:00 Wimpole Park Road, Wimpole. Criminal damage to a vehicle, window smashed in attempt to steal contents within. 

05/08/2017 08:30 – 05/08/2017 10:00 Wimpole Park Road, Wimpole. Theft from a motor vehicle, window smashed and bag taken.

06/08/2017 08:00 – 07/08/2017 06:00 Royston Road (A1198), Caxton. Theft, Trailer taken.

Potton Road / Church Lane Hilton – Police received a report of a parked car obstructing the pavement at the corner of Church Lane and Potton Road, Hilton, on Friday morning, 4th August. An officer spoke to the registered owner later in the day explaining the problem and it was agreed that the car would be moved. (Ref CC-04082017-0101)

A14 Eastbound, Galley Hill – Police were called to a traffic incident on the Eastbound A14 near Galley Hill at around 4:30 pm on Friday afternoon, 4th August, in which a car was reported to have become entangled with a lorry and dragged down the road for a distance. No one was reported to have been injured and no serious damage was caused. Police spoke to both parties who exchanged details. (Ref CC-04082017-0313)

Common Lane, Hemingford Abbots – Police received a call reporting an argument in the road on Common Lane, Hemingford Abbots, very early on Saturday morning, 5th August. When officers arrived they found a group of young people who explained that there had been an end-of-term party and there had been another group who had now left the village. (Ref CC-05082017-0019)

Barnfield Lane, Papworth St Agnes – Police received a report of three off-road vehicles with men and dogs, possibly hare-coursers, seen on land near Papworth St Agnes just after 7:00 pm on Saturday 5th August. As the report was coming in, the cars were dispersing in different directions. Damage had been done to farm gates, with one metal barrier pole having been wrecked. Although the vehicles had left the area, registration numbers had been noted down by witnesses and police took the details for intelligence purposes. (Ref CC-05082017-0461)

Potton Road, Hilton – Police are investigating a report of criminal damage to a tractor that took place on farm land off Potton Road, Hilton, at around 9:20 pm on Saturday evening, 5th August. The driver of the tractor was alerted to a report of possible hare-coursers driving across fields in a four-by-four vehicle whilst returning the tractor to the farm, and caught sight of a purple or blue off-road car coming towards him. After some manoeuvring of the two vehicles, the car came up behind the tractor and the driver is believed to have used an implement, possibly a catapult, to shatter the window in the back of the tractor cab. The car then drove off towards St Ives. (Ref CF0448770817)
