PCSO’s Update

An incident of theft has been reported in Booth way, Little Paxton.
Between, Sunday 11th June 2017 at approximately 20:00 hours and Monday 12th June 2017 at approximately 07:25 hours, an unknown offender/s have stolen the catalytic converter from a vehicle parked on the driveway of a residential property. The Vehicle involved was a Volvo.

Maze Road, Hilton – Police received a call for assistance from an electricity company who were dealing with an incident in which high winds had brought down power cables on Maze Road, Hilton, on Tuesday evening, 6th June. The cables were reportedly sparking and needed to be cordoned off for public safety until engineers could arrive at the scene. Police coned off the area and stayed at the scene until engineers arrived shortly later.

Rideaway, Hemingford Abbots – Police were called to Hemingford Abbots at 11:00 am on Wednesday 7th June following a report of a fallen tree blocking the road on Rideaway. When officers arrived they found the road was entirely blocked by the tree and contacted the Highways authorities to arrange for it to be removed.

The Green, Hilton – An up-and-over garage door at a house on The Green, Hilton, was damaged when an unknown person attempted to force it open at some time between 3:00 pm on Saturday 10th June and 8:00 am the following morning, Sunday 11th June. The garage was not entered and no other offences were committed.

London Road, St Ives – Police were called to a disused building on London Road on Monday, 12th June, evening following a report of two teenagers seen breaking in to the derelict property. However, the intruders had left by the time officers arrived.

A14 Goretree Road – Police stopped traffic on the A14 for a time on Monday evening, 12th June, following reports of a man seen sitting on the barrier of the Goretree Road over-pass. The incident ended safely and the road was reopened after about an hour.

Layby on A14 Eastbound – Thieves broke into the trailer of a lorry parked up for the night in a layby on the A14 at Junction 26 near Hemingford Grey on Monday 12th / Tuesday 13th June. Not many details are available at the moment but it appears that a quantity of boxed goods have been stolen.

Suspicious Incidents This Week:

  • Potton Road, Hilton – Wednesday morning, 7th June – Police received a report of two males calling at a house on Potton Road, Hilton, claiming to represent an energy company and wanting to come in and inspect windows. The resident did not see any identification or a van, and was worried that the callers were not genuine. Police gave verbal advice about cold-callers and door-step sellers.
