PCSO’s Update

B1040 Hilton – Fire, police and ambulance crews were called to a road incident on the B1040 near Hilton just before midnight on Tuesday 28th February. A single car had left the road, ending up well off the carriageway down a deep water-filled ditch, trapping the driver and passenger inside. Fortunately both occupants were uninjured and the fire crew was able to get them out of the car safely. Recovery services later pulled the crashed car out of the ditch and the scene was clear again by 3:00 am on the Wednesday morning.

A14 Westbound – Police stopped a lorry being driven westbound on the A14 for a mobile phone offence on Wednesday afternoon, 1st March. When officers checked the driver’s documentation, they found that his licence had also expired. Officers impounded the lorry’s keys, to be given to a replacement driver when the haulage company provided one.

London Road, St Ives – Officers stopped a driver on London Road, St Ives, in the early hours of Sunday 5th March on suspicion of driving with excess alcohol. When tests were carried out, they showed that he had been driving with over twice the legal amount of alcohol in his system.

Description: Unknown person(s) have gained entry to a white Mitsubishi L300 by smashing a window and taking various items including toolboxes, an old box of telephones and various other tool related items.

Description: Unknown offender(s) have smashed an outer pane double glazed window to detached house in Spurgeons Avenue.

Description: Unknown offender(s) have scratched one long deep line along the passenger side, scuffed the passenger wing mirror and bent the back and front wipers to Mini Cooper whilst parked at offence location.

Description: Unknown offender(s) have forced entry into an outbuilding which is used to pack fruit. It is unknown what has been stolen at this stage.

Description: Unknown offender(s) have gained access to an orange BMW I3 but have been disturbed and made off.

Location: Long Lane, Willingham
Description: Unknown offender(s) have forced entry to a locked outbuilding on Long Lane. Nothing is believed to be stolen at this time.

On Tuesday 7th March 2017 at approximately 17:25 hours in Dryden Court (Ed: Huntingdon??)– An unknown offender/s have thrown a stone at an upper window to a residential property, causing criminal damage.

Please be aware that a number of incidents have occurred in the village of Offord Cluny over the last couple of days:-

On  Monday 6th March 2017 at approximately 21:15 hours in the High Street-:  An unknown offender/s have gained entry to a business address causing criminal damage and have stolen a number of items from within the building.

On Tuesday 7th March 2017 at approximately 18:30 hours and Wednesday 8th March 2017 at 06:00 hours in Towgood Way -: An unknown offender/s have stolen the front and rear number plates to a vehicle parked at a residential property.

On Tuesday 7th March 2017 at approximately 16:00 hours and Wednesday 8th March 2017 at 07:45 hours in Asplins Lane -:  An unknown offender/s have stolen personal items from a vehicle parked at a residential property.

On Tuesday 7th March 2017 at approximately 23:00 hours and Wednesday 8th March 2017 at 08:00 hours in The High Street-:  An unknown offender/s have forced the doors into a summer house and stolen a chainsaw from within.

On Tuesday 7th March 2017 at approximately 18:00 hours and Wednesday 8th March 2017 at 06:00 hours in Paddocks Chase -:  An unknown offender/s have gained entry to a transit van and stolen a number of items including power tools from within the vehicle.

Lost and Found:

Found – Potton Road, Hilton – Wednesday 1st March – a black patent leather handbag and a small jewellery box, both empty, under a garden hedge. These have been collected by officers and are being checked to see if they are stolen items that have been abandoned.
