PCSO’s Update

Detective from the Huntingdonshire Burglary Team are investigating a burglary that occurred between 12 pm and 7 pm on Monday 23rd January 2017 at a multi-occupancy address in The Whaddons, Huntingdon. Whilst the occupants were away, two locked rooms have been forced open with a jemmy item. Once inside, the offender(s) have stolen cash and a Cello tablet device.

Date occurred: 22/01/2017 22:00 – 23/01/2017 06:55 Location: Allington Close, Histon Description: Unknown person/s have smashed the front driver’s side window to a Mercedes Vito van. A cash box has been stolen containing about £40 in change.

Date Occurred: 23/01/2017 00:30 – 23/01/2017 07:00 Location: Brickhills, Willingham Description: Unknown offenders have gained entry into two vehicles whilst parked on a driveway from offence location. Cash and tools were stolen.

Date Occurred: 22/01/2017 22:30 – 23/01/2017 08:00 Location: Bourneys Manor Close, Willingham Description: Unknown offender/s have forced entry into a black Citroen by smashing the rear window. A Handbag was stolen.

Date occurred: 20/01/2017 17:00 – 22/01/2017 12:30 Location: Bar Road, Longstanton Description: Unknown offender/s have stolen a child’s black and grey racing bike from offence location. The bike was locked to itself.

Date Occurred: 21/01/2017 00:30 – 21/01/2017 09:00 Location: Minerva Way, Orchard Park Description: Unknown offender/s have stolen a ladies bicycle from offence location. The bike was locked to itself.

Home Farm Road, Houghton – A red Audi car stolen from St Ives earlier in the month was found on Home Farm Road on Thursday 19th January. Police removed the car and took it away for forensic analysis.

A14 – Three vehicles were involved in a collision on the A14 at 7:15 am on Friday 20th January. Although the carriageway was blocked for a time, police were able to get the vehicles moved into a layby and the road was clear again by 7:30 am.

Hemingford Road, St Ives – A resident of Hemingford Road reported a door-to-door cold caller, selling items from a large hold-all, mid-afternoon on Friday 20th January. The resident thought that the caller had replied rudely when told that nothing was required. Officers in the area searched the surrounding roads and cul-de-sacs but no-one matching the description was found.

Lost and Found: Lost and Found – Houghton Hill RoadTuesday morning, 17th January – Happily, a lost dog was reunited with its owner after having been reported lost and then found on Houghton Road near the junction with Sawtry Way.

FoundBanks End, Wyton – Thursday 19th January – a rucksack, floating in the river at Banks End, Wyton. The rucksack was handed in to Huntingdon Police Station and when police opened it, it was found to contain items stolen in a house burglary earlier in the month.

FoundLondon Road, St Ives – Monday 23rd January – a small black ladies purse containing bank cards and other documents, to be handed in to Huntingdon Police Station.
