PCSO’s Update

Between Friday 13 January 2017, 08:20 hours and Saturday 14th January 2017, 19:00 hours in Barford Road, Eynesbury, there were three incidents of pedal cycle thefts. Two of the cycles were secured with locks, which had been cut and the third was unsecured. All were gent’s cycles of varying types.

A14 Hemingford Abbots – Just before 9:00 am on Wednesday 11th January, police were called to a road traffic incident on the A14 near Hemingford Abbots involving two cars and a van. An ambulance was called to assist one of the drivers, seen to be lying on the ground, and the eastbound carriageway was closed for a time whilst police dealt with the incident. Recovery services were also needed to remove the crashed vehicles but the road was reopened by 10:45 am.

Marsh Lane, Hemingford Grey – Police received a report of suspicious behaviour by two men in a white van on Marsh Lane, Hemingford Grey, at around 2:00 pm on Wednesday 11th January. The van stopped alongside a resident walking a Jack Russell dog and asked if the dog was for sale, driving off again when the dog-walker stated that it was not. No other details were available but the incident was logged.

A14 Near Galley Hill – At some time during the night of Wednesday 11th / Thursday 12th January, someone slashed the side-curtain of a lorry parked up on the A14 near Galley Hill and interfered with its contents, whilst the driver was asleep in the cab. At the moment, it is not known if anything was stolen.

Goretree Road, Hemingford Grey – Police received several reports of three Shetland ponies loose on the road and heading towards the A14, just before 7:00 am on Thursday 12th January. They strayed onto the eastbound carriageway and disrupted traffic for a time before being caught near Galley Hill and brought home by their owner in a horse box.

A14 Hemingford Grey – Police were called to a road traffic incident on the A14 near Hemingford Grey at 7:15 am on Thursday 12th January, involving a car and a van. It seems that the van ran into the back of the car, however both vehicles stopped safely and although an ambulance was called, no-one was thought to be hurt.

Grove Lane, Hemingford Grey – Police visiting an address on Grove Lane in the early hours of Saturday 14th January issued a cannabis Fixed Penalty Notice following the discovery of a small amount of the substance on the premises.

A14 Westbound, Galley Hill – Overnight on Sunday 15th / Monday 16th January, another lorry parked up on the A14 near Galley Hill was broken into. The  driver woke up to find that the fabric of the side curtain had been cut and the trailer entered, but nothing appears to have been stolen.

13/01/2017 17:00 – 16/01/2017 09:00 Scotland Road, Dry Drayton. Offenders have forced entry to an office and a search has been carried out, nothing appears to have been taken.

15/01/2017 12:00 – 16/01/2017 09:55 Engledow Drive, Orchard Park Offenders have broken a car window and stolen a bag from  within.

11/01/2017 10:00 – 16/01/2017 10:15 Viking Way, Bar Hill Offender has forced the rear doors of a van open, nothing was taken.

16/01/2017 07:30 – 16/01/2017 17:15 Ermine Street South, Papworth Everard Offenders have stolen a bag from a staff area in a business premises.

16/01/2017 07:30 – 16/01/2017 18:40 Huntingdon Road Westbound, Girton, Offenders have broken a padlock from the front door of a garage and stolen tools from within.

16/01/2017 14:50 High St, Cottenham Offenders have stolen cash which had been left at a cash machine.

20/12/2016 00:00 – 16/01/2017 00:00 Cambridge Science Park, Milton Offenders have stolen an electric saw from a container.
