Local officers recently took part in a week of action against modern slavery, to coincide with the work done on a regular basis to tackle the issue.
As part of this action, officers across the county visited houses of multiple occupancy, properties previously identified as brothels and hand car washes. In addition to these visits, awareness raising events were held in Cambridge and Fenland.
In Peterborough, officers from the newly formed Prevention and Enforcement Services, which includes staff from the city council and fire service, carried out the visits.
Our priority has been, and always will be, to protect members of the public from harm. We are committed to working with partner agencies to tackle modern slavery and target those who gain from others’ suffering.
Modern slavery is happening in Cambridgeshire and we need your help to tackle it. Please consider taking a moment to familiarise yourself with the signs and report any concerns. For more information you can visit our website by clicking here.
