In the past week there have been 2 instances of very large quantities of processed waste being illegally dumped on farm land.
The first occurred on Glatton Lane, Glatton between 17:00hrs on the 8/9 and 08:00hrs on the 9/9. Damage was also caused to a set of galvanised gates.
The second incident happened, we believe, between the same times. The same sort of waste was dumped on land on Oundle Road between Chesterton and Elton.
Unfortunately because this waste is on private land it is the land owners responsibility to have it cleared, which is very expensive.
The reason for my message is two fold. Firstly to ask if anyone saw any suspicious vehicles, this would of been a large container type vehicle, in the area during the stated times and secondly to bring this to your attention and the attention of all farm/land owners.
Should you see anything suspicious please call 101 or if a crime is being committed then 999.
If you have any information regarding either of these incidents then please call 101 and quote crime reference number CF0407060916 or contact the Rural Crime Action Team directly on 01480422888 or via email
Thank you for your continued help in keeping our county safe.
