PCSO’s Update

Chapel Lane, Houghton – At some time between 1:00 pm on Saturday 5th and 9:00 am on Tuesday 8th November, unknown persons entered the garage of a house on Chapel Lane and stole three items of gardening equipment: a ride-on mower, a leaf-blower and a strimmer. No damage was done to the garage during the burglary, and at the moment it is not known if any neighbours noticed anything suspicious during the time in question.

Banks End, Wyton – At some time overnight on Tuesday 8th / Wednesday 9th November, an unknown person removed and stole the front and back number plates of a car left in the car-park of a Marina at Banks End, Wyton. Both plates were subsequently found discarded in Hartford later on the Wednesday.

The Green, Houghton – Mid-afternoon on Wednesday 9th November, police received a call complaining about cars blocking the road and inconveniencing businesses at The Green during school finishing time on many afternoons. The cars are thought to belong to parents picking their children up from school. This is an on-going issue, and PCSOs have been asked to look into the problem.

Potton Road, Hilton – CCTV images show that at 2:30 am on Thursday 10th November, a petrol-powered scooter that its owner had left locked and secure in a car park off Potton Road, was stolen by unknown persons. The images show the thieves arriving in the car-park and loading the scooter into the back of their car before driving off with it. Investigations are underway to try to identify the offenders or their vehicle.

A14 Eastbound Galley Hill – At 5:45 am on Thursday 10th November, police received a report of a collision on the A14 near Galley Hill between a car and a lorry. Although the report states that the car had been spun by the impact and had collided with barriers on the central reservation, there is no mention of any injuries or of an ambulance being required. Recovery services were called, and the road was clear by 6:30 am.

A14 Galley Hill – Police received reports of another collision at Galley Hill, this time at 6:45 am on Monday 14th November, and involving 3 vans and an articulated lorry. The outside lane was reported to be blocked and traffic flow as far as the Spittals interchange was affected, but fortunately there were no injuries and the road was clear by 7:30 am.

Between 00:01hrs on 01/11/2016 and 23:59 hrs on 02/11/2016 unknown offender has scratched a Silver, Renault Laguna while it was parked outside of a house in Little Meadow, Bar Hill. CF0522921116.

Between 00:01 hrs on 01/10/2016 and 23:59 hrs on 07/10/2016 unknown offender has scratched a Ford Fiesta while it was parked outside of a house in Little Meadow, Bar Hill. CF0522971116.

Between 18:00 hrs on 12/11/2016 and 08:00 hrs on 14/11/2016 unknown offender has scratched a Renault Clio while it was parked outside of a house in Little Meadow, Bar Hill. CF0523031116.

Between 17:40 hrs on 14/11/2016 and 08:15 hrs on 15/11/2016 unknown offenders have taken 4 alloy wheels from a Grey Audi S3 while it was parked on the driveway of a property in Old Pinewood Way, Papworth Everard. CF0523601116.
