Temporary Traffic Regulation Order 23/857 – High Street, Toseland Road & Offord Road, Graveley

Please see order below for your information. This Order has been approved by Cambridgeshire County Council and will come into operation on 31 July 2023.

NOTICE is given that Cambridgeshire County Council has made an Order pursuant to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along High Street, Toseland Road and Offord Road, Graveley as lies between The Old Rectory and The Rectory Farm.

Access will be maintained to properties affected by this order.

The alternative route for vehicles is via Offord Road – Graveley Road – B1043 – Causeway – B1044 – A1198 – B1040 – High Street – Toseland Road and vice versa.

The Order is made to facilitate water main renewal, connections and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 31 July 2023 and continue until these works have finished or on the 30 January 2025 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 31 July and 7
August 2023.

The Order shall not apply to any persons lawfully engaged in connection with any works for which it is made, any member of the Police Force, Fire and Rescue Service, Ambulance Service, a vehicle being used by Special Forces during the execution of their duties or to any person acting with the permission or upon the direction of a Police Officer in uniform.

Please note, the signing schedule has not been checked in detail. The signage of the closure must be in accordance with the Traffic Signs Manual Chapter 8 and must comply with the Safety at Roadworks and Street Works Code of Practice.  Adequate signing of the alternative route is entirely the responsibility of the applicant. The applicant MUST place Advanced Warning Signs at each end of the highway to be closed at least 14 days prior to the closure informing the travelling public of the start and end dates of the closure.

Graveley Parish Council has requested that Businesses Open as Usual signs are put out again and Cambridgeshire County Council has confirmed that these will be put out prior to works commencing.
